At any point, have you felt thirsty today?
By the time you realize this you are already dehydrated. Being thirsty is your body screaming for re-hydration.
60% of our body is made out of water. Just think about that. More than half of our being is composed out of water.

Why you should drink more water:
Feed your body. Water is essential for the proper circulation of nutrients in the body. Water serves at the body’s transportation system and when we are dehydrated things just can’t get around as well.

Cranky pants: dehydration can affect your mood and make you grumpy and confused, drink up and increase your clarity!

Headaches: quite often headaches are caused by dehydration, drinking enough water can prevent this – gulp down some water the next time you feel a headache coming on.

Performance: Water composes 75% of our muscle tissue, dehydration can lead to weakness, fatigue, dizziness and electrolyte imbalance.
Melton formula:
*One to two hours before your workout, drink 15 to 20 ounces of water
*15 minutes before you begin, drink between 8 and 10 ounces of water
*During your workout, drink another 8 ounces every 15 minutes.

Flush it: Our digestive system needs water to function properly – we flush out waste by urine and sweat. Not drinking enough means we don’t flush!

Look at your skin: Our skin is the largest organ in our body. Drinking enough water can improve the colour and texture of your skin by building new cells properly.

Weight loss: sometimes we think we are hungry when we really are just thirsty. Make sure to drink sufficient amounts of water when trying to drop some pounds, this will help suppress your appetite!
Joint pain: drinking water can reduce joint pain by keeping the cartilage soft and hydrated. This is what glucosamine does: it aids the cartilage’s absorption of water.

Cancer: Various research says staying hydrated can reduce risk of colon cancer by 45% and bladder cancer by 50% – how’s that for motivation to have an extra glass?

– Start your day of right, have some lukewarm water with lemon first thing when you wake up.
– Never leave the house without a bottle, make sure it’s empty when you arrive back home!
-Fruits and vegetables contain a lot of water as well, adding raw veg into your diet will add numerous other benefits as well.
-Your urine should be free from scent and colour – are you drinking enough?
